Warm Up on a Cold December Day with These Recipes for Shrimp Creole!

December 3, 2021

As December weather keeps the temperature dropping across the country, it’s always a good idea to keep a hearty dish in your back pocket to bring the heat. At Wild American Shrimp, we’ve got you covered with one of our favorite dishes: shrimp creole!

Inspired by the French but born in the heart of Louisiana, shrimp creole is a mouthwateringly rich and spicy dish that will warm up any cold day. This dish is similar to shrimp gumbo and jambalaya in terms of some of the base ingredients, but shrimp creole stands out by being thicker and spicier than gumbo, with the rice often prepared separately and used as a base for a hearty layer of sauce slathered on top like a soup. And, it will be even better with the superior taste of wild-caught American shrimp (be sure to always read labels to make sure you are getting wild-caught shrimp from the U.S.A.).

If you’re looking to start making shrimp creole yourself, you can’t go wrong with any of our recipes!
