Make Your Next Meal Quick and Easy With Shrimp Sushi!

January 26, 2022

There are dozens of delicious ways to serve up wild-caught American shrimp — from Shrimp Scampi to Shrimp Salad — but today, we’re offering up a whole new way to make a tasty shrimp dish quick and easy: Shrimp Sushi!

While most people often get their sushi from a restaurant, it’s easy and fun to make at home as long as all the right ingredients are on hand! If raw seafood doesn’t appeal to the tastebuds, worry not, our recipe calls for cooked shrimp and is ready to eat in a matter of minutes! Try making this Shrimp Sushi as an easy-to-grab snack or served alongside our recipe for Seafood Fried Rice for an Asian-inspired dinner!

Enjoy our recipe below, and be sure to cook with wild-caught American shrimp for the best flavor!

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup of uncooked sushi rice
  • 4 sheets of seaweed paper
  • 1 cucumber, avocado or another vegetable of your choosing, cut into thin strips
  • 8 large wild-caught American shrimp, peeled and deveined

DIRECTIONS

  • Cook rice in a medium pot of water according to package instructions.
  • Cook the shrimp by bringing another medium pot of water to a boil and placing them in for 2-3 minutes. Remove the shrimp once they turn pink.
  • Spread cooked rice onto a seaweed paper sheet
  • Cut up the shrimp and vegetables, add them on top of the rice and then roll everything up into a tube.
  • Cut up the tube of sushi into individual rolls and enjoy!
